There are ARF ( Almost ready to Fly) airplanes that you can buy, its built already, you just have to assemble the wings and tail on it. They cost anywhere from 100.00 up to about 500.00, the Remote Control comes extra, it will cost about 200.00 also. Hobby shops carry them, good site to check them out is “www.towerhobbies.com”, thats where I order my stuff from. I don’t fly , I just build them from scratch. Good Luck

billy is right. Go to Tower, they have everything.

I use the Great Planes Big Stik to train my students. Naturally, I use a “Buddy Box” system, (dual control).

It gets kind of pricey, and depends on whether you decide to fly Nitro or Electric.

Just for arguments sake, I’ll use the current price of the Big Stik 60 nitro. The arf costs $149.97 The engine costs $160.00

To get it in the air you need support equipment, such as, a battery to light the glow plug and a glow plug clip, a fuel pump to fill the tank, props of the proper size, in this case a 11/7 or 12/6, a chicken stick or 12 volt starter to crank the engine, and a variety of tools to do maintenance.

I’m just trying to give you a general idea of what the hobby involves. If you order the Tower catalog, costs $3.00, You will find everything you need to know.

Good luck and I hope you do decide to get involved. It’s great fun.

One word of caution. Locate your local R/C flying club. The guys will help you get in the air safely.

Tower Hobbies is the number 1 and one of the oldest RC stores in the country. As an alternative check Hobbytown USA. They have a good line up of entry level models.

If you are considering start in this hobby go with the biggest trainner you can afford. A Kadet Senior is a good choice as well as the Next Star.

Also check the Academy of Model Aeronautics for clubs in your area. They can teach you to fly.

Welcome to the hobby and enjoy.
